It is such a basic function that got neglected in the mobile app, but I am glad that the Facebook mobile app team finally added this long awaited function to Android. Well, another step in the right direction, next in my list would be the ability to post as page admin. Facebook, can you hear me?  Update: Looks like iOS got the same update too.

Yes, you heard it right. Google Maps Navigation (beta for now) is finally available in Singapore for phones running on Android 2.2 and above. Unfortunately, Apple iOS and Windows Phone 8 users would have to wait until further notice . Okay, Google, Malaysia next please?

  Google had recently announced two new additions to the Nexus family, Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 ( official page ). Nexus 4 is basically a Google version of LG Optimus G, and the Samsung-based Nexus 10 is a direct competitor to iPad. Both devices come with the new Android 4.2 . Together with Nexus 7 by Asus, Google is setting standards for all other Android tablet manufacturers. Even Apple has hopped on the bandwagon and announced iPad Mini . Meanwhile, Samsung has sold more than 30 millions Galaxy SIII within five months.   In China, we have two new quad-core smartphones, Xiaomi 2 and Huawei Honor 2. Both devices come with 2 GB of RAM, 720p IPS screen, and 8MP rear camera ( detailed specifications ). I am not going to write much about this, this Apple event basically features a smaller variant of the iPad, iPad Mini. They come with a form factor close to 7" (7.9" to be exact), which the late Steve Jobs once called them dead on arrival . Besides the iPad Mini ( comparison ), new revision of iMac (certainly thin, and with Fusion Drive), 13" MacBook Pro (no discrete graphics though), Mac Mini , iBooks , and even a "newer" iPad (4th generation, 3rd generation no longer available ) are announced together. Yes, the date is 7 March 2012 and iPad 3 is here. Before that, let us take a glimpse into other news brought to the public. Apple’s iOS 5.1 was leaked earlier and we learned the existence of a Japanese Siri. This was finally confirmed in this Apple event. Moreover, together with the announcement of iTunes in the cloud now support movies, a refresh of Apple TV that supports 1080p will be available next week (of course not in Malaysia/Singapore). Last edited 4 May 2012. Recently, a post in the official Diablo 3 forum relayed message from Jay Wilson, the Game Director of Diablo 3, that hints at a near-future launch date announcement. Then, Lowyat.NET found that the pre-order price for Singapore has been revealed (SGD 89) at GX.com. This pre-order is exclusively for SingTel Mobile prepaid and postpaid customers. Samsung sure know how to promote their flagship smartphone. Until today, Galaxy S2 owners still can get free games from Samsung Apps , an Android Market equivalent offered by Samsung. Last year, in accordance with WCG 2011, one Gameloft full game (Asphalt 6: Adrenaline) was provided free of charge to Galaxy S2 owners. Then, Samurai II: Vengeance was available for free as well. Unfortunately, both of them are not complimentary anymore. At the time of writing, Samsung Apps is charging RM 18 or S$ 5.35, but both games are available much cheaper in Android Market (refer to the picture above, price of the games are shown in USD, convert normally). There are currently two not-to-be-missed, high quality 3D games that are available for free in Samsung Apps: Dead Space and Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation. At first glance, Galaxy Nexus has a lower spec compared to Galaxy SII , but a mobile phone is not just about the hardware, as Galaxy Nexus is the first phone to run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). This is a major selling point of the device, introducing a pure Google experience, no Sense, no Touchwiz, just vanilla Android. This is a rather weird move as SGSII is selling like hot cakes. Around the same time, there are users ( here and here ) reporting that Samsung Malaysia silently changed the System-on-Chip (SoC) in I9100 and renamed version of the new sets to I9100G. The original SoC is Exynos 4210 (with Mali-400) and the new SoC is a lower performance Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 (with SGX540). The OMAP 4430 SoC is used in LG Optimus 3D and the performance is indeed poorer than Exynos according to a review by AnandTech (VIA Jayce Ooi's Paradise ). Apple fans rejoice! Apple officially invited reporters to an iPhone-related event on October 4th, 10am Pacific Daylight Time, at its California headquarter. Let's talk iPhone 5? SOURCE Engadget With Galaxy Note just announced, we welcome another writing gadget, the Boogie Board Rip . Boogie Boards by Improv Electronics have been around for a while, what makes this version special is the ability to save your scribbles. The images are saved as PDF files, which could either stored in the internal memory or transfer to PC via a micro USB port. This writing board is expected to come this November and with a price tag of a little over $100. I would say this is a great start for a digital notepad.

Samsung Mobile just launched three new products in their Unpacked Episode in Berlin: Galaxy Note, Wave 3 and Galaxy Tab 7.7. What interested me the most is Samsung Galaxy Note . It reminds me of HTC Flyer, which is considered as a failure in my opinion. Will the new S Pen brings back the natural writing experience on a 5.3" screen? We shall see.

To be exact, calls to United States and Canada placed outside these countries are not free anymore, it will be charged for $0.01 per minute . Google said they have rectified the " mistake " since they intended that only calls placed within US and Canada are free. It is a sad news for those who have friends and families in these two countries (me included) and have been enjoying free calls. Update: The better answer came from another Google employee: the function to call from GMail was extended beyond the US.
