June 8, 2011 is World IPv6 Day. What is it, you ask? In summary, 2 32 IPv4 web addresses ran out and the internet needs a new protocol that gives many more addresses (for IPv6, 2 128 to be exact). Not all users are ready for this and thus a smaller scale test is needed. On this day, major web companies along with other participants would enable IPv6 on their websites for 24 hours. Google is releasing its very own +1 button to major websites (e.g. Blogger, look up), a big attempt to compete with Facebook like button.
