Lawsuits in mobile industry

I am looking for a mobile phone and was aware of the great battle of lawsuits in the mobile industry. I came across the lawsuits news while reading comments from an Engadget post, this diagram gives a nice summary of who is suing who. Although phone manufacturers are involved, but the lawsuits normally target Android, and eventually Google.

Everyone wants a piece of the mobile market, and if you can't beat them, sue them.

Update:
I read a Gizmodo post about George Kokkinidis redesigned the graphic from Guardian. Before I could link the new graphic, Motorola decided to sue Apple. Fortunately, the author is fast and here is the updated version (SOURCE Design Language News).

Okay, you don't mess with Apple. Apple sues Motorola back for multitouch.

As mentioned in my previous post , I discovered some problems with Foxit Reader and PDF-XChange Viewer. More precisely, Foxit Reader had been criticized heavily because it forces installation of a browser toolbar . However, this was changed in the latest version. On the other hand, the rendering in PDF-XChange is not as good as I previously thought. In summary, you can look at the table below. For the installation part, both Foxit and XChange allow users to download the complete installers, but Adobe requires users to use a web installer. During installation of Foxit and XChange, you would need to select shell extensions and PDF display in browser for maximum functionality. Xiaomi MI 2 review

Left: Phone image from Xiaomi website. Right: Box contents. Finally, I got my hand on the highly sought-after Xiaomi MI 2 phone. Besides reading my personal experience with this phone, I would suggest you to also read the article from Engadget and, if you understand Chinese, the in-depth review from Zealer . The package comes with the phone itself, a battery, a back cover (white), USB data cable, and USB power adapter (standard China 2-pin). A few notable missing specifications are no 4G, no NFC, and no card slot (and the total available storage for user is only about 10 GB out of 16GB). I have nothing to complain considering the price of about RM 1000 / SGD 400. MI 2 has very similar pricing and  specifications ( official page ) to another highly demanded phone, the Google Nexus 4 (quad-core, 2GB RAM, same chipsets, etc.) This phone is currently available only in China but there are plans to extend the market to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore .

Apple event 23 October 2012

I am not going to write much about this, this Apple event basically features a smaller variant of the iPad, iPad Mini. They come with a form factor close to 7" (7.9" to be exact), which the late Steve Jobs once called them dead on arrival . Besides the iPad Mini ( comparison ), new revision of iMac (certainly thin, and with Fusion Drive), 13" MacBook Pro (no discrete graphics though), Mac Mini , iBooks , and even a "newer" iPad (4th generation, 3rd generation no longer available ) are announced together.
